MWH ‘seals the deal’ with Thames Water and joins them in their £2.5Billion AMP6 Alliance to deliver one of the largest and most varied water infrastructure programmes in the UK.

MWH were delighted to be present at the Thames Water gathering in London on Friday for the formal signing ceremony for what is now being stated as one of the biggest contracts ever in the history of the water industry.

MWH has been selected for both the Programme Management and Design & Build partner roles within this £2.5Billion ‘Super Alliance’ selection.

The new alliance, eight₂O, comprises programme manager MWH, two design and build joint ventures – Skanska, MWH Treatment and Balfour Beatty (SMB), and Costain and Atkins – as well as a technology innovator IBM, with Thames Water acting as both client and partner. Together, these alliances will carry out between £2bn and £2.5bn of work over the AMP6 period (2015-2020), with potential to extend contracts beyond this to 2025.

Alan Krause, MWH Chairman and CEO said, “We have really valued our early involvement in helping to shape Thames Water’s combined approach to its AMP6 programme. MWH will bring expertise and ideas from across our global business to this exciting programme and I look forward to our team continuing to work collaboratively with all of the eight₂O partners to deliver a world-class service to Thames Water customers.”
